VICI delivers an intensive English immersion programme at its Academy in Windsor, Berkshire, for ambitious students aged 16 to 21.
The programme is structured to develop all aspects of English language competence – combining academic group lessons, independent digital learning, and communicative workshops to provide a rigorous, balanced, and highly effective learning experience.
It is designed for motivated learners who are committed to making measurable progress in their English – whether in preparation for academic study, professional life, or personal goals.
Our aim is to support each student in developing greater accuracy, fluency, and confidence in English through sustained immersion in the language and in British life.

The Boot Camp is deliberately structured to engage students in English in multiple ways throughout the day.
Morning Focus
on structured, academic learning – building accuracy, grammar, and language knowledge.
Afternoons shift to active, communicative workshops
putting that knowledge into immediate practice through discussion, projects, and presentations.
Add to this independent work
on a cutting-edge digital learning platform, and students experience English as a passive learner, an active communicator, and an independent thinker – all in the same day.
This multi-layered approach is one of the most effective ways to accelerate language development and is rarely available outside of a professional immersion setting.
Our goal is to support young people in developing greater ease and fluency in English, strengthening their confidence, and nurturing a long-term motivation to achieve bilingual proficiency.

Who is this programme for?
Our Boot Camp students come from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities, creating a rich and diverse learning environment. While their personal journeys may differ, they share a common goal: to sharpen their English and use it with real confidence in the real world.
- Some are highly motivated young learners preparing for key school exams or competitive entry to top institutions.
- Others are on the threshold of university and want to arrive fully prepared – academically and linguistically.

Please note that younger and older students within the 16–21 age range are not mixed – groups are structured to ensure every student is learning alongside peers at a similar stage, both academically and personally.
The programme is designed for motivated young adults who are serious about their English — and ready to put in the work to get there.

Intensive, Immersive, Effective
Immersed in English…
For many Boot Camp students, immersion begins before they walk through the Academy doors — some are visiting Windsor with family, others are living independently. Either way, English is their language from the moment the day begins.
Students spend their day learning and working alongside a mix of international learners and young expats already living and working in Windsor — creating an authentically English-speaking environment that is rare and genuinely powerful.
English is the only language of communication throughout the entire programme — in lessons, workshops, and all activities.
All students complete a pre-arrival level assessment and set personal language goals before the programme begins.
English with Purpose…
Students are placed in groups by age and level, with an average of 8 students per class (12 maximum) — ensuring a focused and personalised learning experience.
All lessons and workshops are delivered by qualified English language coaches experienced in working with young adults and further education learners.
Language development is supported through:
- Structured academic lessons targeting accuracy and grammar
- Communicative workshops focusing on fluency, discussion, and presentation skills
- Independent work on the digital learning platform
- Vocabulary building and speaking and listening practice
- Guided use of a Learning Diary
England as Your Classroom…
Cultural activities are carefully selected to reinforce language learning and give students an authentic experience of British life — this is a language immersion experience, not a sightseeing trip.
- A visit to Windsor Castle — right on the doorstep of the Academy
- A full afternoon excursion to Oxford — exploring one of the world’s great university cities
- A complimentary Afternoon Tea — a quintessentially British experience to close the programme

Programme Location and Student Welfare
The English Summer Boot Camp is held at VICI Language Academy in Windsor, Berkshire — a historic and vibrant town located between London and Oxford, with Windsor Castle right at its heart. The Academy sits in the centre of town, just by the bridge, placing students in an authentic, living English-speaking environment from day one.
Students on the full board option are accommodated with carefully selected host families in Windsor, providing a warm, supportive, and genuinely immersive home environment. Living with a host family is itself a powerful part of the language experience — students practise English naturally in a home setting, outside of the classroom and long after the Academy day has ended.
For students making their own accommodation arrangements — whether staying with family, relatives, or independently — the Academy team is available throughout the programme to ensure every student feels supported and connected.
All welfare arrangements are fully compliant with UK safeguarding standards.
Welfare Measures Include:
- Daily check-ins with Academy staff
- 24/7 emergency contact support from the VICI team
- Emergency contact information provided to all students and families
- A pre-arrival consultation to discuss individual needs and expectations

Key Features of the Immersion Programme
- The programme provides up to 100 hours of structured English language use, including both classroom-based learning and supervised cultural activities.
- English lessons are delivered by qualified language coaches employed year-round by VICI Language Academy. All staff involved in working with students under 18 hold appropriate background checks and safeguarding training.
- Students attend a 30-minute online consultation before arrival to review their English level and discuss individual learning objectives. This supports appropriate group placement and goal setting.
- Lessons and activities are delivered in small groups with a maximum of 12 students, grouped by age and language level.
- The activity programme includes:
- Outdoor language-based tasks in Newbury
- A supervised introduction to cricket
- Visits to London and Oxford with educational and cultural components
- A baking workshop focused on traditional British scones
- Students are accommodated in supervised shared housing located within walking distance of the Academy.
- A programme itinerary is provided to all students and families. It outlines the schedule of academic and leisure activities on a day-by-day basis.
