Max Et Sacha se disputent

“I have based “Max et Sacha se disputent” (Max and Sacha have an argument) on a quarrel (fictional, of course!) in a mixture of French and English – which enables readers to get to grips with certain everyday phrases in an informal way.”

As a fluent French speaker, I am keen for my daughter to grow up being bilingual. I read to her in French every night. As for my husband, he can only speak English. Reading “Max et Sacha se disputent” is wonderful because both of us are able to read it and understand it, and it allows Alice to see that there are two distinct languages. Alice really enjoys the story and she asks to read the book over and over again. We are both looking forward to the next one in the series! (My husband is also learning French with this!)

Speaking as a Dad who regrets not doing more with languages at school, I was thrilled to find it was loved by the kids but accessible and relevant to me too. The book is more than a language tool though; it has a delightful story that is beautifully illustrated and simply a joy to read. I would encourage any parent wanting to help their children explore French to invest in this great book.

Introducing your new French friends…..Max & Sacha!

On Saturday 2nd July 2pm-4pm Newbury Library and the Vici Language Academy were thrilled to invite children and their parents to an exclusive bilingual storytime featuring French frères with flair, Max & Sacha!

The first in a brand new series of bilingual books for children, Max & Sacha se disputent (Max & Sacha have an argument) is a delightful story written in a mixture of French and English.

Author of the book and Mum to this dynamic duo, Nathalie Danon is also Founder of the Vici Language Academy here in Newbury and she has over 15 years’ experience teaching French to all ages and abilities.

“I know just how easily kids can pick up and retain new language skills, after all, I see it every day!  I was inspired by my boys and my passion for languages to create the Max & Sacha series and I hope my new books will make foreign languages fun, accessible and relevant to all who read them!”

Max & Sacha were brought to life and the children experienced a hands-on, interactive, fun-filled afternoon of French games and activities with Nathalie and her Gallic gang!
