Following on from my last blog about commitment, I want to say a few more words on the subject.

In that piece I focused on the parallels between being committed as a business owner and being committed as someone learning a new language.

“There is an additional point that I’d like to make which pertains to the wonderful – and committed – parents of our younger students.”

These parents make the decision to stay with us for years because they have made a commitment to invest in their children’s education, furnishing them with future opportunities and a mindset that will stay with them forever.

Time and time again they make the decision to prioritise that investment, and it’s something to be truly respected and admired because it involves hard work and self-sacrifice to make it happen.

I’m extraordinarily proud that – in the face of tremendous adversity – 2020 at the Academy has been our best year on record. Not without great pain! But we committed to making things work, and we prevailed. Given the challenges, I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved this year.

And I’m equally proud of all our families who continue to make an outstanding commitment to the education of their children, even in the face of adversity.
